On Monday, October 21st, NYU's Clive Davis Institute will host a masterclass led by Colin McDowell, founder of the award-winning Silicon Valley audio software company, McDSP!

McDSP technology can be found in pro audio plug-ins for popular digital audio workstations including Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, and Avid live sound systems. McDSP audio algorithms are also used by companies such as Audiokinetic, Bioware, and Microsoft, and in consumer products like the LouderLogic iOS audio player.

Colin McDowell has spent over two decades in the professional audio industry. Before founding McDSP in 1998, he was employed at IBM, Digidesign, and Dolby. Colin worked on several projects during that time, including many Digidesign plug-Ins, the original TDM multi-shell technology, and the Emmy Award winning Dolby E audio encoder. Colin's work at McDSP has garnered eight TEC Award nominations, two Electronic Musician Editors Choice awards, a Cinema Audio Society Award for Best Post Production Product, an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development, and a US patent.”
