What does "research" mean at a school like Tisch? What do students and faculty need to produce their most rigorous work? How do we encourage radical experimentation, provocative collaboration, and thoughtful reflection?

These are just some of the questions we think about every day. Welcome to Tisch Creative Research!

Research at Tisch takes many forms - some traditional, some idiosyncratic, some still rendering. All of it shares one basic characteristic: rigorous inquiry.

It can be other things, too - interdisciplinary, collaborative, multimodal. But when we think about how best to serve the research needs of the Tisch community, that's where we start - with the central idea that artists are researchers who generate new knowledge.

We are here to support and strengthen research and research-related activities of the students, faculty and staff of Tisch School of the Arts. How do we do that? Scroll down for a list of some of the specific opportunities we provide to the Tisch community.
