Questions catalyze inquiry. Inquiry produces research. Research creates new knowledge. New knowledge inspires new questions.

There is no other school in the world like Tisch School of the Arts - in terms of breadth of disciplinary study, integration of that study within one institution integrated within an R1 university (highest level of research activity at a doctoral institution), and leadership by a world-class faculty committed to innovation, collaboration and interdisciplinarity.

The cycle of investigation is at the core of creative and scholarly production and nowhere else is the breadth and depth of that production matched. In 2025, Tisch Creative Research is launching a new effort to solicit and highlight a range of faculty work, and we encourage ALL faculty to participate!

    The Office of Faculty and Tisch Creative Research partner in our shared mission to make the research activities of Tisch faculty visible and legible to the University community, and collaborate on a number of faculty-support initiatives including the annual Dean’s Grants, professional development workshops, and other special projects.
