Everyone knows the importance of social media, but not everyone knows how to make social work for them, and this hands-on workshop led by 'stache media's Catherine Rotella and Victoria Bachan did just that. Not only did Catherine and Victoria demystify the world of digitial media, but they gave students the tools and resources needed to build, maintain, and grow their social platforms and reach their unique goals.

Catherine Rotella
is the Manager of Lifestyle Marketing at ‘stache media, RED, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. In this position, she spearheads grassroots marketing initiatives for many different artists and brands. Marketing campaigns have included Grammy winner Lecrae, Third Eye Blind, Joey Bada$, Jazz at Lincoln Center, AWOLNATION, Shaggy and more. Catherine started at RED Distribution in 2011 as the Radio Promotions Coordinator + assistant to the SVP before transitioning into the marketing world. She worked for the Syndicate, a music and entertainment marketing agency, while in college and held internships at RED Distribution and Fueled By Ramen/Warner Music Group (Paramore, Gym Class Heroes, Panic! At The Disco). Catherine is a graduate of Adelphi University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a concentration in media studies. Fun Fact: When Catherine was in high school, she spent a lot of her time at TRL where she was pied in the face on live television by American dance-pop band, Cobra Starship.

Victoria Bachan oversees the Influencer Marketing and Social Media Management department at ‘stache media, a music marketing agency within Sony Music/RED. She started her career interning at Universal Republic Records in the A&R department learning under Co-President and COO Avery Lipman’s A&R team. From there she joined the marketing team at AEG Live NY while pursuing her Communications degree at Marymount Manhattan. She spent her summers on the road with the Vans Warped Tour representing MusiCares, the nonprofit health care initiative of the GRAMMYs and after 3 years on the road she relocated to Los Angeles to work under Kevin Lyman (Founder of 4Fini, Vans Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos and Rockstar Mayhem Festival). She returned to New York in 2015 to join the Speakers and Personal Appearances division of Creative Artist Agency where she gained invaluable experience working with high profile clients such as Malala Yousafzai, Cal Ripken Jr, Hoda Kotb, Spike Lee and Mark Cuban. In Victoria’s current role, she works with artists and brands to make sure their social media is full of exciting, informational, and engaging content. In addition, she works to create original material with influencers to elevate the message of a brand or artist. Fun Fact: Victoria has been to all 50 states!
