Derek M. Oxford (also known as GLU) is a music executive, educator, and creative talent with over a decade of experience in A&R, publishing, artist management, marketing, partnerships, and career development.

GLU most recently served as Senior Director of A&R at Pulse Music Group, where he signed and developed a roster of artists, songwriters, and producers with credits spanning Beyoncé, Drake, Bad Bunny, Chris Brown, Saweetie, Kehlani, Joji, and BTS. His signings include Liana Banks (Saweetie & Doja Cat’s “Best Friend,” Saweetie’s “Get It Girl”), Toian (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), Tiggi (Don Toliver’s “Kryptonite”), Hardwerk (Chris Brown ft. Davido & Lojay’s “Sensational”), and Suburban Plaza (Joji’s Feeling Like the End, Dissolve, Ew, 777). He also introduced DIXSON and Daniel Church to Parkwood, leading to collaborations with Beyoncé and Kehlani; signed ODIE, Smoove’L, and Kojey Radical early in their careers; and signed legendary producer C Gutta (Young Dro’s “Shoulder Lean,” Jeezy’s “My Hood,” Drake & 21 Savage’s “Broke Boyz,” Bad Bunny’s “Dos Mil 16”).

Beyond Pulse, GLU has consulted for BandLab Technologies, TheBasement Series, and Berklee College of Music, where he advanced music strategy, platform partnerships, experiential programs, and industry relations. He also founded TheGLUPRINT, a career strategy and artist development platform that has prepared rising executives and creatives for opportunities at ESPN, Game Seven, Luti Media, Splice, BMG, Primary Wave, Pulse Music Group, Atlantic Records/Warner Music Group, Capitol Music Group, Parkwood, Honua Music Group, Hartbeat Productions, Dick Clark Productions, Paramount Pictures, Wasserman Music, The Britto Agency, UCLA, and more.

Earlier in his career, GLU built a 360° foundation across A&R, marketing, and creative production through roles at BMG, RCA Records/Sony Music Entertainment, Plan R Management, and Luti Media, contributing to projects for Future, The Weeknd, Alexander Wang, Ella Mai, and Iggy Azalea. He began his professional journey as a legal intern at Serling Rooks & Ferrara LLP and as the first U.S.-based writer and A&R scout for London’s DropoutUK, before expanding into research and communications roles at Time Inc. and Equator Productions.

A New York native, GLU holds a B.A. in Consumer Behavior and Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Rochester, with additional studies in mathematics, vocal performance, and creative technology.
