"Creativity in Context" Students with Professor Nick Sansano
Last week, we held the last day of class for Fall 2023’s “Creativity in Context” module with our first year CDI students. Taught by Nick Sansano and JD Samson, the course contextualizes the holistic core curriculum of the Clive Davis Institute by linking the Institute’s academic disciplines, philosophy, and culture to the equally important artistic objectives of creativity and discovery in practice, building a more tangible frame of reference for our future music industry professionals. Throughout the semester, the course offered opportunities to engage with a variety of industry leaders, including senior CDI faculty and working artists in music, fine arts, architecture, journalism, fashion, and technology. This exposure has proven to lead students to a better understanding of the relationship between academics and artistic/commercial achievement. We simply cannot wait to further this academic and artistic exploration with our class of ‘27 in the years to come!
