Screening: Mr. Dynamite
Join us for an exclusive screening of Mr. Dynamite: The Rise Of James Brown, an award-winning documentary about the Godfather of Soul directed by Oscar® and Emmy® winner Alex Gibney and co-produced by Mick Jagger. The film uses fresh interviews with band members and contemporaries, historical interview and performance footage to delve into politics, race relations during the explosive civil rights movement, and the raw power behind several of JB’s most famous tunes.
Immediately following the screening there will be a Q&A with the film’s co-producer Blair Foster of Jigsaw Productions; Geeta Gandbhir, its main editor; and Greg Tate, author, musician and film participant; moderated by Harry Weinger, NYU Clive Davis Institute adjunct professor and film consultant.
