Spread throughout Animation Area are 10 pencil test stations, allowing students to capture and review animation with ease using Dragonframe.
On NYU Tisch's 9th floor, we maintain a Capture Studio, also called the Green Screen room, which encompasses a wraparound green screen available for Visual Effects & Compositing, Motion Design, Titles & Special FX, and Short Commercial Form students. Special training is required before using the Capture Studio.
Our Stop Motion room comes fully equipped with a Wacom Cintiq, Canon 7D camera, stop motion stage pre-drilled for tie-downs, and aerial brace, as well as a wide range of lights and filters. Stop Motion students are allowed preference when booking the space and access to professional ball-and-socket armatures.
A fast fibre NAS storage solution is available for students to work off of, replicating a real-world studio environment.
Most of our workstations also double as client rendering nodes for our render farm (powered by Thinkbox Deadline), totaling 50 render clients. All workstations on the Animation floor are connected via gigabit Ethernet.
