ISACAG

The Tisch International Student Art & Cultural Activities Group  (ISACAG) has been quite active these past few weeks.  Dan Sandford, international student co-advisor, has been taking new graduate and undergraduate students on forays of discovery for a few years.  The purpose of these activities is to allow students who hail from other countries to encounter the rich cultural mix of New York City while getting to know other each other in an informal but dynamic way.  Scheduling the events during weekends before and after orientation gives students a unique opportunity to experience their new city.  Each journey allows students to examine a particular community. arts or cultural institution, and to share their  impressions over a meal.  In addition to visiting all New York City boroughs each year, ISACAG  outings sample a wide range of cuisines in different settings.  This year these included Dim Sum in Chinatown, Turkish Food in Hell's Kitchen, Hot Dogs and Cracker Jack at a Baseball Stadium, Filipino Food in Little Manila, Greek Food in Astoria, and Argentinian style grilled meat in Prospect Park.

Here are a few images from recent ISACAG activities.  Two more events are planned during the break between Fall and Spring semesters. We encourage international students to participate in these fun activities if they intend to stay during the break.  For more information contact Dan Sandford at dan.sandford@nyu.edu or 212 998-1914.
