As an institution that nurtures the next generation of artists, we believe that asking an artist to work for free devalues their time, supplies, creativity and expertise; it also undercuts the income of emerging artists and reinforces systemic inequality. We are committed to helping change an industry that has been perpetuating this practice, with the goal that all artists can ultimately deserve a living wage.
