Logo art work for the event Geek street fair

Google Geek Street Fair

Google’s Geek Street Fair is back in New York City, taking over Union Square’s North Plaza on Thursday. Local technology businesses and organizations join Google to inspire youth of all ages to take interest in fields of science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and computer science. On top of music, giveaways and tasty treats, tinker with electronics, robotics and virtual games and get geeky!

Experience the free Geek Street Fair on Thursday, October 13 from 12-5 PM on Union Square’s North Plaza (17th Street and Broadway).

These are the two ITP projects at Google's Geek Street Fair:

1) Rube Telephone: Chino Kim and Aaron Montoya

The Rube Telephone is a Rube Goldberg machine that tangibly processes and translates conversation between two people, creating a dynamic multisensory experience using various old and new technologies and producing unexpected outcomes.

2) Danny's Shining Hallway - Nikolaj Slot (ITP 16)

Have you ever wondered how it would feel like to be on Danny’s bike from Stanley Kubrick’s 'The Shining", riding down the Hallway? This is your chance. A Virtual Reality experience from Danny's perspective”
