Russell Blanchard

Growing up in South East London, Russell followed his interest in art and design from an early age attending Wimbledon School of Art and then the Product & Furniture degree program at De Montfort University. In 2003 he moved to the US to join electronics giant, Philips Design. Having worked across global design studios gaining varied experience in domestic appliances, automotive, healthcare, housewares, fragrance, toy, telecommunication and consumer products he developed his expertise in creating meaningful experiences for real people. Russell is passionate about leveraging creativity and empathy in his design process. Now, as the Director of Industrial Design at Smart Design New York he works across various insight driven programs leading multidisciplinary creative teams to help clients define and realize strategic design opportunities.
