AVATAR
AVATAR blurs the lines between the digital and physical worlds through the use of an avatar. Media artists Aaron Montoya-Moraga and Yuli Cai collaborate with dancer/choreographer Donald C. Shorter Jr. to create a world in which Donald interacts and responds to his own avatar.
This is a remote performance that will be live streamed 6.20.2017 at 9pm from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in the Department of Dance building.
This project was funded by NYU Tisch Institute of Performing Arts. The avatar was created with 3D digital scanning technology by Aaron Montoya-Moraga and programming by Yuli Cai and Aaron Montoya-Moraga.
