Embedding Narrative in Virtual Space: Calling VR a storytelling tool generates some polarized reactions. Some creators say "story" is at odds with the very nature of true VR, while others laud it as the final storytelling medium-- the ultimate empathy machine. 

Keeping those extremes in mind, this talk will outline some ways of exploring narrative through virtual environments, emphasizing the affordances of the current VR ecosystem, and breaking down some specific examples of how narrative can be embedded in space. Conventions of prior storytelling media may not be well-suited to this format, but if you can tell a story in reality, you can tell one in VR too!
