Katherine Dillon has been a member of the full time faculty at ITP since 2011 and an Adjunct Professor from 2007 - 2010. Her focus is design and interaction. She teaches Visual Language, a course she developed that is now part of the core curriculum and focuses on graphic literacy. The course aims to develop in students with no experience in graphic design the skills and confidence to communicate their ideas visually. Katherine also teaches User Experience design– a course that introduces the voice of the end user into the design process and Persuasion Design, a course that is based on the premise that through an understanding of human behavior we can design experiences that can affect positive change. Katherine is also member of the thesis faculty and leads 18-22 students through the thesis process each spring.

Tom Igoe Coming from a background in theatre lighting design, Igoe believes that all interactive technology design should start with the motivations and actions of the people for whom they're designed. His research interests include physical interaction design, networks, sustainability in technology development, and monkeys. At ITP, he is the aread head for physical computing courses. He has written four books for makers and he is an occasional contributor to Make magazine as well. He is a co-founder of the Arduino open source microcontroller environment. He has consulted for various museums and interactive design companies as well. He is currently living a personal dream of working with monkeys, and wants to visit Svalbard someday.
