Emily Gardner Xu Hall
Congratulations to class of 2013's Emily Gardner Xu Hall for being chosen as the recipent of the 2021 Dramatists Guild Stephen Schwartz Award as a composer, lyricist, and librettist.
"The Stephen Swartz Award is a pledge to the future of musical theatre. Selected by a private committee of composers and industry leaders, the $10,000 Award is given annually to a musical theatre writer whose voice is seen as critical to the continued success of the craft, in unconditional support of their work."
Some of Emily's current projects include a commissioned musical with the Atlantic Theatre Company, the development of a feminist musical reinvention of the Chekhov play, "Cherry Orchard," and the continued work on her play with music, "MEI-DO."
