SXSW Jury Award Winner for Animated Short (http://alexalimhaas.com/aguaviva/​) ​and UGFTV Animation Area Alumnus Alexa Lim Haas visited on March 27, 2018 to guest lecture in Professor Bae's Animation: From Pitching to Pipeline to Production course​ in which students explore their personal style and develop an idea into a pitch book while working on their portfolios​ (FMTV-UT.1116).

​Alexa shared her process for developing short films and shared stories of her journey after graduating from NYU.  Students were able to relate and connect with Alexa on the challenges of being a director and raising funds for her films such as applying for grants.​

Alexa Lim Haas is an artist and filmmaker from New York City. She was selected as one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film by Filmmaker Magazine 2017 and is a Borscht Corp Grantee for her newest short Agua Viva. Her previous animated short Glove premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and continued on to win numerous awards including best animated short at SXSW. She received her BFA in filmmaking from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
