Aoshuang Zhang is a Chinese set and production designer based between New York and Beijing. She holds a BA and MFA from Beijing’s Central Academy of Drama and is the first Mainland Chinese student to enroll at NYU Tisch Design for Stage & Film's graduate program. She works across a variety of media including theatre, film, interactive video and game design. Aoshuang thrives in collaborative environments and strives to create experimental immersive theater and film experiences. Recent work includes The Empty Place, The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window, Recall and Alteration at NYU/Tisch, Global Gay at LA MAMA, and Patience at Corkscrew Theater Festival. She staged a ring screen performance of Hamlet Mirror at the 11th Shanghai Biennale Exhibition. Aoshuang is a passionate dreamer with aspirations of one day becoming a cyborg.
