Lindsay Miller, Cornell University Library, Summer 2021
For my MIAP summer internship, I was paired with Cornell University Library, where I worked under their Digital Consulting & Production Services team. While at Cornell, I had the opportunity to digitize a variety of different types of audiovisual materials including VHS, reel-to-reel and compact cassettes. In addition to digitization, I also assessed media collections, assisted in quality control of digital files and contributed to previous existing workflows.
While I worked with several collections, a good majority of my time was spent with the Susie Bright Papers and On Our Backs records (1978-2013). I was unfamiliar with Susie's work prior to my internship and loved having the opportunity to explore its contents. It was also super fun to digitize erotica!
