Kea Lia Joy Pedersen
Animation Senior Computer/Network Technician
Kea Pedersen is a 2D animator, sound designer, and independent game developer. She graduated from NYU Film & TV where she nurtured her passion for interactive narratives and mixed media. Kea has sound designed various award-winning animated and live-action films, including the grand prize winner of the 2021 First Run Film Festival, and she received the Achievement in Animation Award for her own film She Could Be The Light.
Before returning to her home at NYU, she worked on projects for PBS and NowThis that covered the legacy of racial inequality in the criminal justice system. She also has done animation and illustrative work for currently unreleased projects at Netflix and the Pixar Co-Op Program, and taught an animation workshop for adults with cognitive disabilities living in South Florida.
When not working on the Animation Floor, Kea can be caught taking naps in Prospect Park and perusing the indie section at her local comic shop.
