The Tisch Office of Career Development is equipped with computer stations with internet and printing to help you conduct career-related business.  Stop by and browse our reference library which houses major entertainment industry trade publications, periodicals, and other industry guides.  You may also utilize our on-site access to the following electronic research tools:

Studio System
Get in the loop with the entertainment industry's premiere data source, containing frequently updated development and production details and data, talent representation, performance and financial data, and a comprehensive entertainment company directory.

IMDbPro
Find people, projects, company details and contact information, as well as statistical information based on popularity and grosses, with this enhanced version of the Internet Movie Database. Please note this account cannot be used to create/update personal IMDb profiles or production listings.

Backstage
Search casting director and talent agent directories. Please note this account cannot be used for audition submissions.

Production Weekly
Learn about film and tv projects in pre-production and production. This weekly digest includes contact info for production offices.

Playwrights Center 
This database of opportunities is updated almost every day and contains information on contests, theaters looking for scripts, publication opportunities, fellowships, and more

Theatrical Index
Find comprehensive theatre business insider information about Broadway, Off-Broadway, touring productions, and premieres across the country, as well as projects in development.

A&R Registry 
A&R Film & TV Music Guide
These two guides contain listings for A&R executives at the major record labels and top independent labels, as well as info for the personnel responsible for the placement & licensing of music into film and television.

Access to these databases is available remotely. Current students may also utilize the databases in-person during office hours. For details, please email tisch.career@nyu.edu.

  • The NYU Production Lab is a development center whose mission is to support the next generation of artists in designing and launching thriving careers in your industries. The Lab offers support for your creative projects and careers, a full program of talks and workshops, and co-working and audition space year round.
  • Tisch Alumni Affairs offers a wealth of resources, alumni councils, and programming to support your artistic pursuits and link you to the pulse of the creative industries.
  • Wasserman Center for Career Development is NYU's central career service office, offering extended resources for working professionals, career-changers, and alumni at various points in their career path. More info about Wasserman can be found at www.nyu.edu/careerdevelopment.
  • Tisch School of the Arts Professional Courses are for those interested in continuous learning after graduation. Register for short courses or master classes in different parts of the media industry to build skills in your career or simply for personal growth. Alumni receive a 10% discount.
