This event is only open to the ITP/IMA community.
In this talk, Lingdong will showcase how he uses code as a creative medium for making art. From generating intricate patterns to crafting interactive experiences, he’ll share insights into his processes and the tools he uses and creates, as well as dive deeper into recent projects such as {Shan, Shui}*, doodle-place, and fishdraw. He’ll discuss important themes of his work, such as playfulness, tool-making and the recreation of organic and painterly effects in code. He’ll also talk about his educational journey, including his experience as a PhD researcher at MIT Media Lab, and discuss how creative practice and academic research can help shape a fulfilling practice.
