As Director of Creative Technology at ESI Design, Yuri Sunahara designs interactive experiences and technical strategies that enable, extend, and bring to life meaningful, accessible, and immersive experiences. She draws upon her 18 years of expertise in interaction design, interface development, media production, and technology implementation to achieve dynamic, engaging user experience. Yuri’s projects with ESI include the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate, The Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration, Terrell Place, JFK Presidential Library & Museum.
Prior to joining ESI in 2000, Yuri spent several years as a web and interactive media developer for clients such as PBS and the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA), which received various design awards. Yuri’s interactive installation work and numerous collaborative art pieces with photographer Nancy Davenport have been exhibited internationally. She has also given lectures at various institutions and universities in New York and Tokyo, both of which she calls home.
