Choreographic Coding Lab

ITP has the pleasure of co-hosting a Choreographic Coding Lab (CCL) Aug 27-31 in conjunction with NYU Engineering - IDM. CCLs are an outgrowth of Motion Bank, a four-year research project of The Forsythe Dance Company focused on the creation of digital dance scores with guest choreographers. This research involved the study, documentation and analysis of unique choreographic approaches, and the datasets and tools used behind the development of the Motion Bank scores will be made available for the CCLs. Half the participants are NYU graduate students from ITP, IDM and Tisch Dance and half are from an open call.

ITP participants include: Craig Pickard, Eozin Che, Jung Hyun Moon, Kat Sullivan, Sergio Mora, Stream Gao, and T.K. Broderick.

Guest choreographers include: Jeanine Durning, Jon Kinzel, Silas Reiner and Wally Cardona.

Please join us on the last day of the lab (Monday Aug 31) for the CCL Open House @MAGNET in Brooklyn. Specific time TBD.

This event is made possible in part with support from the Dean's Office and the Tisch Initiative for Creative Research.
