Thesis student Alfonso Herrera Salcedo won the prestigious Golden Tadpole at Camerimage for his cinematography on Lefty/Righty.
Lefty/Righty, directed by fellow thesis student Max Walker-Silverman, follows a divorced, young cowboy learning how to be a father after losing his own. The short film competed in the Student Etudes Competition category, whose jury president described Herrera’s photography as “simple, unpretentious imagery that disarms us and then draws us into a world that is charmingly old-fashioned and yet somehow very modern.”
