Prashanth Kamalakanthan is an Indian-American writer/director, born in Tirupati, India, and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. Prashanth graduated from Duke University's Center for Documentary Studies and Duke Arts of the Moving Image, before working in documentary at The Nation, Mother Jones, and The New York Times, and later studying narrative screenwriting/directing at NYU Tisch Graduate Film. He is a 2018-19 IFP-Marcie Bloom Fellow, based in Brooklyn, NY, where he is developing his first narrative feature.
