A Farewell follows Danni, a young Chinese girl who comes home to pay her respect to her late grandfather. Out of place in her grandpa's traditional Muslim environment, she unearths a hidden secret of her past. Against her parents' wishes, she embarks on a journey in the suppressed but mesmerizing world of Islamic culture in modern China.

Yifei He is a writer, director, and producer from Beijing, China. Her exposure to two immensely contrasting worlds has deeply impacted her perspective on life and cinema. Yifei strives to integrate her eastern aesthetics with western storytelling and shed light upon undiscovered stories of marginalized people. She has written, directed and produced multiple shorts in China and the U.S. The short film "A Test" which she produced was selected by the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, the 2017 Stockholm International Film Festival, the 2017 Nashville Film Festival, and the 11th FIRST Youth Film Festival in Xining, China. Yifei was selected by NYU as a 2017 W.T.C Scholarship recipient, as well as a recipient of Tisch School of the Arts scholarship. She is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in the Graduate Film program at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
