    Sarah Greenbaum

Sarah Greenbaum is a Brooklyn-based cinematographer and current student at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Growing up in a small coastal town, Greenbaum developed a profound love for light and color in nature, and an acute awareness of the ebb and flow of time on varying scales. In her subsequent classical training as a painter at the Russian Academy of Art in Florence, she cultivated a more discerning knowledge of communication, structure and the expression of emotion through light and color. This experience lay the groundwork for Sarah’s sensitive and incisive approach to cinematography, which she continues to refine at NYU. Greenbaum has collaborated on numerous commercial and narrative film projects in the United States and abroad. Since beginning at NYU in 2019, she has received numerous recognitions for her work, most notably the Christopher B. Smithers Documentary Award, Documentary Winner of the ReelPeople/ReelAbilities Competition and Documentary Finalist at the NYU Fusion Film Festival. She is humbled to have the opportunity to both work and learn alongside so many innovative minds at NYU and beyond.
