EDDY FRIEDFELD is a film and entertainment journalist and historian. He is the co-author of the autobiographies Caesar’s Hours with Sid Caesar; Directed by James Burrows with James Burrows, and worked with Mel Brooks on his autobiography All About Me. He is also working on a book on the history of comedy. He was the Senior Consultant for the Emmy Nominated documentary Make ’Em Laugh: The Funny Business of America; a Consulting Producer of the award-winning documentary Funny You Never Knew; and a consultant on the Superheroes documentary. He has produced and hosted tributes to George Carlin, Paul Newman, Robert Altman, Eric Idle, Alan King, Dick Cavett, Dick Van Dyke, and Sid Caesar (with Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, and Billy Crystal), among others. He received his BA from Columbia College and his JD from NYU Law School, where he was the Chairperson of The Student Senators Council and The University Committee on Student Life and was awarded The President’s Service Award and The Vanderbilt Medal. He also teaches at Yale College and NYU College of Arts and Sciences.
