When I started working for the Department of Public Information of UN, they were about to start a mass digitization project. The project applies to the UN legacy of audio/visual collections on audio, video, film, photographs and related documentation and metadata, essential for the retrieval and discovery of the digital collections. The unit just hired three consultants/contractors for this project. My initial tasks were entering legacy metadata into their digital asset management, and the other task related to the metadata entry was to research and add the candidate values for the Personal Subject field. I had the chance to get myself familiarize with UN meetings and conferences. I also worked on photo captions for a few weeks until I got involved in working on the metadata entry guideline and working with the consultants of the digitization project.
