Third World Newsreel (TWN) is a non-profit media arts organization that fosters the production, distribution, and preservation of independent documentary film and video by and about people of color and social justice issues. During my internship at TWN, I performed tasks such as: 1. 16mm film inspection, assessment, cataloging, and rehousing; 2. FileMaker Pro user manual revision and update, including the addition of a data dictionary and controlled vocabulary lists; 3. drafting preservation grant proposal for Childcare: People’s Liberation (1970), Suzanne, Suzanne (1982) and Finding Christa (1991). Some of the tasks were unfortunately halted due to COVID-19, yet I still gained experience in collection management, proposal writing, and film handling from this internship.
