My internship focused on the management of the Film-makers' Cooperative’s digital video assets. As FMC members have begun working in digital video, or migrating their works from analog video and film to digital video formats, the archive has slowly been accumulating a shelf of USB flash drives and external hard disk drives. Through discussions with the FMC staff, I designed and implemented a strategy for cataloging and preserving these materials. In addition, I helped perform a 2K film scan of 16mm and 8mm films by Storm DeHirsch, Stan Vanderbeek and Silvianna Goldsmith. I also processed an incoming collection of photographs, legal documents and writings by filmmaker Ron Rice, I participated in a 16mm projection workshop, and the expanded cinema event “Live Film Soundtracks,” both organized by the Film-makers’ Cooperative.
