APP '13 Jon Henry is operating as an artist-activist through his recent entrepreneurial venture Jon Henry General Store.

Henry opened the store in 2018 after having experience selling organic, non-GMO, sustainable eggs to get him through school. Through this experience, he gained the business acumen to manage the sales of sustainable food from local farmers in the Shenandoah Valley. Henry also uses his artistic and curatorial eye to decide which offerings to share in the store to provide sustainable outcomes for all involved in the supply chain, including the customers.

The general store partners with organizations to allow customers to use SNAP benefits to give themselves affordable organic food while also paying farmers sustainably. Henry also operates a Community Supported Agriculture program through the general store. The program allows for customers to buy in to local farms and receive seasonal produce.
