NYU Tisch x Sundance Film Festival
For decades, NYU Tisch alumni, students, and faculty have been a defining force at the Sundance Film Festival.
NYU Tisch School of the Arts is proud to celebrate our incredible community of filmmakers and storytellers and continue our 30+ year legacy of hosting space for our community at the Festival.
What began as a small dinner with filmmakers and faculty has grown into a three-day activation with hosted meals, networking opportunities, and fireside chats with notable alumni filmmakers.
Join us this year as we continue to celebrate excellence in NYU Tisch filmmaking.

This year marked the school's 33rd anniversary celebrating its extraordinary community at the Sundance Film Festival. We are thrilled for the 138* Tisch alumni, former students, current students, and faculty who worked on 36% of projects in the 2026 Sundance Film Festival!

NYU Tisch at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival
This year, 143 Tisch alumni, students, and faculty worked on projects in the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. Half of the ten films in both the US Dramatic Competition and the US Documentary competition were written, directed, or produced** by alumni. In addition, three of our affiliated films in the US Dramatic Competition category were directed by women.

NYU Tisch at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival
NYU Tisch School of the Arts was thrilled to return to the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. This year, 99 alumni worked on projects in the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. Half of the feature films in the U.S. Dramatic Competition and three of the 10 films in the U.S. Documentary Competition were written, directed, and/or produced by Tisch alumni! In addition, 5 of the 8 films in the 40th Edition Celebration Screenings & Events have a Tisch affiliation.

NYU Tisch at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival
NYU Tisch School of the Arts was thrilled to return to Park City for the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, the school’s 30th year celebrating its extraordinary community of alumni, students, and faculty. Overall, our community worked on 36% of all films in the 2023 festival, which includes 47% of feature length films and 19% of short films and indie episodic programs. Congratulations to the 13 alumni who won an award for their work!

NYU Tisch School of the Arts was thrilled to return to the 2022 Sundance Film Festival virtually for the school’s 29th year celebrating its extraordinary community of alumni, students, and faculty. Congratulations to the 11 alumni and faculty who won awards! This year, seven of the films in competition and a total of 34 films are written, directed, or produced by Tisch alumni, students, or faculty. Tisch artists worked on 30% of the projects featured at the Sundance Film Festival.
