Sam Zalutsky

Sam Zalutsky is a New York-based award-winning filmmaker and photographer. His revenge thriller SEASIDE, starring Oscar winner Ariana DeBose in her first feature lead role, is a queer female-driven revenge thriller set on the Oregon Coast distributed by Gravitas Ventures. For YOU BELONG TO ME (Wolfe Releasing), a gay psychological horror feature, Sam was shortlisted for the Independent Spirit Award's Someone to Watch Award. HOW TO MAKE IT TO THE PROMISED LAND, a short about a teenager forced to play a Holocaust role-play game at summer camp, was funded by the Jerome Foundation. He’s directed second unit on true crime shows, I, Witness, and A Crime to Remember, short films, and dozens of non-profit and campaign videos with the Creative Resistance. He teaches screenwriting at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the Naslund Mann Graduate School of Writing at Spalding University and is developing both film and TV projects. Residencies: MacDowell, Fundación Valparaiso.
