Attendees take their seats at the September Open House
Attendees take their seats at the September Open House

We had the great joy of welcoming hundreds of prospective Tisch students and their families to campus at our first admissions Open House of the year, on Saturday, September 26.  It was a beautifully clear day, with New York City showing off like the superstar she is.

Our opening session, in the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, started with a live performance by one of our Tisch clubs, the a cappella group N’Harmonics.  Always exciting to watch, they wowed everyone in the room.

After a keynote address by Dean Robert Cameron, students and their families headed off to breakout sessions with faculty, staff, and current students of the programs they were interested in: Cinema Studies, Dance, Drama, Dramatic Writing, Film and Television, Game Design, Performance Studies, Photography and Imaging, and Recorded Music. Students and parents asked probing questions about the Common Application, the artistic review process, our curriculum, the difference between our BFA and BA programs, what a typical student’s day was like, and career opportunities for students when they graduate from Tisch.  Later, there were campus tours and opportunities to see residence halls and speak with counselors from the Office of Financial Aid about how to finance a Tisch education.

If you didn’t get a chance to join us for this Open House, don’t worry: There is another one on October 17.  If you’re interested in joining us, you can sign up at http://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/visit-us/open-houses.html. We hope to see you there!
