Maria Koblyakova (BA '18) and Natalia Alfutova will present Fourth Avatar at the HTMLLES Festival in Montreal.
Fourth Avatar is an installation consisting of a kiosk (50x50x170cm) which scans and identifies objects, provides virtual information about them, and then issues the object a passport. The image and information appear on the website www.stuff.mediamead.org as well as on a monitor for the participant to see. Others can observe this process via a projection on the other side of the gallery. After receiving the object’s passport, the participant can decide how to use it: share on social media networks, with friends or delete the passport and free the item from an identity.
