Ethan Philbrick to lead seminar at Abrons Arts Center

Monday, Oct 17, 2016

Ph.D. Candidate Ethan Philbrick will be leading a seminar at Abrons Arts Center on Wednesday evenings from October 19th through November 9th called CHORAL MARX.

From the course description: This is a class that is also a chorus. We will encounter pivotal political and theoretical texts written by Karl Marx through a variety of experiments in collective reading and singing.  Paying special attention to the contemporary significance of Marx for anti-racist, anti-misogynist, anti-heterosexist, and anti-imperialist struggles, we will sound-out Marx in the present through a series of reading assignments and original choral music.  No prior training in political economy or vocal performance is necessary.
