Lawrence, an unpublished novelist, has written an autobiographical novel about his relationship with his previous girl friend, a well-known painter, named Alice. The woman he is currently living with, Greta, a psychoanalyst, knows a literary agent who takes Lawrence on, and finds a publisher for his novel. The publisher asks him to get a RELEASE from Alice. She is still bitter that he cheated on her with Greta. Alice refuses to sign the release—and the struggle is on…!
