Sheer Appearances
ITP Alum Barak Chamo has opened an exhibit in New York at 320W 23rd St called Sheer Appearances. Sheer Appearances offers an illuminating overview of recent works by Barak, each growing out of a period of analytic research of both the materiality of lighta dn human perception as a way of behavior in dialogue with our non-human kin. The subjective experience of light through repurposed digital displays and optical mediums indicates a different understanding of the often mystified nature of the digital image itself. The present work appear as assessments of human interaction with technology and reevaluate this fragile relationship under extreme tactile conditions.
