Understanding Risk Opening Ceremony
Over the Summer, ITP alum Mary Mark was the Creative Director for the World Bank’s Understanding Risk Opening Ceremony in Himeji, Japan. She worked on creating a show intended to craft a balance of tradition and innovation in the context of disaster resilience. The ceremony featured Shodo and Taiko performances, a keynote by a renowned architect Shigeru Ban, many inspiring speakers, and custom-designed elements such as programmable Andon LED lanterns.
