Before The Year Is Up...
Before we finish up our Fall Semester of 2022, we wanted to let you know about all of the AMAZING things that has happen this year such as Shawn Van Every being the chair of ITP and IMA, graduating our first group of IMA students who started with us in 2018, IMA-Low Res starting their 3rd cohort, and last but certainitly not least welcoming Pedro Galvao Cesar De Oliveira, Yeseul Song and Sharon De La Cruz to the ITP/IMA Full Time Faculty team! All three are scholars, artists, and makers who bring extraordinary skills, talents, and valuable new perspectives.

Congratulations are in Order!
We are very pleased to announce Shawn Van Every as the new Chair of Tisch's ITP department (which encompasses the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) MPS, Interactive Media Arts Low Residency (IMA-LR) MA and Interactive Media Arts (IMA) BFA programs). As the founding Director of the undergraduate program (IMA BFA) which graduated its first full cohort this year, Shawn has been the key architect elevating the level of learning, research, creativity and fun during this period.
We want to thank Dan O’Sullivan, who is still the founding Associate Dean for all the Emerging Media departments at Tisch, for his extraordinary vision, fortitude and dedication in leadership over twelve years that has guided the department to the outstanding reputation that it holds today. Dan rose within the department after developing the first ever physical computing curriculum and instituting the ITP Show before he ably took on the task of succeeding Red Burns, the founder of ITP, as Chair. Under his leadership the department grew enormously with new programs like a large new BFA programs (IMA), a Global low residency MA program and ITP Camp all housed in brand new facilities at 370 Jay in Brooklyn, and spin off programs such as Game Design and Interactive Media majors in Shanghai, and Abu Dhabi. Red would be amazed, and proud of all that has been accomplished during his time as Chair. Dan will continue as the founding Associate Dean for all the Emerging Media departments at Tisch and, of course, with his teaching at ITP/IMA.

ADJACENT Issue 10
The Adjacent team is proud to announce the launch of exquisite adjacent, the 10th installation of the ITP/IMA journal for emerging media. This year we are exploring the intersection of nature, technology, and humanity. For this issue, we used the Adjacent platform as a community building tool on the floor and built a collaborative, personal, and tactile publication with the ITP/IMA student body. Find Adjacent at the ITP/IMA Winter show this Sunday and Monday to snag a copy and learn more about our process.
The Red Burns Scholarship Fund!
This is our last appeal for a year-end, tax deductible contribution to the Red Burns Scholarship Fund, to help support diversity within our student community, particularly those who have been underrepresented in the past. Through the end of this year, our beloved and now retired colleague, Nancy Hechinger will be matching all donations up to $100K as her retirement gift to the students! Please help us reach this generous matching fund! We thank you so much!
