Pippa Kelmenson is a creative technologist and sound artist in her last year at the NYU Tisch Interactive Telecommunications Program. With a background in experimental and electronic music, her interest in interactive projects is informed by her desire to create a dialogue between sound and art.

Her projects are focused on bringing multi-sensory visions to life, with the aim of creating alternative methods of ‘hearing’ interactive sound art. She has produced installations and performances that accentuate psychoacoustics and the corporeal impact of sonic vibration at Bard College, Mana Contemporary, and The Atlantic Center for the Arts. She aspires to challenge the limitations of sound art to emphasize the body as a listening device, and make the field accessible to anyone with an imagination.

As a student at ITP, her focus is combining audio with creative coding, design, and fabrication. Her main objective is to use these tools to bring people as physically close to immersive systems as possible—by lessening the distance between sound and the body.
