The Atlantic recently published a beautiful profile on Grad Film's Co-Head of Directing, Kasi Lemmons. In it she discusses her journey into directing, what it means to be a woman of color in the film industry, and how important teaching is to her. Here's a quote, referring to her students:
"I want them to be inspired, to stay positive and focused, because that’s what it takes... It’s perseverance and stamina and a love and interest in the process."
The aricle also announces that Professor Lemmons has just signed on to direct The Other Wes Moore for HBO, based on the best-selling biography of the same name.
