Grad Film alumnae Haley Anderson and Lakshmi Simhan are two of the five winners of the Spring 2019 SFFILM Westridge grants.

Anderson won for her 2nd year curricular film Coyote Boys, about a boy who befriends a group of runaways, artists, and activists on illegal train rides that take him deep into a world off the grid.

Simhan won for her film Dry Summer, about a 17 year old Indian girl who gets caught up in a world of guns, religion, and mounting acts of petty violence.

The SFFILM Westridge grant awarded both Simhan and Anderson $20,000 for screenwriting and development for their narrative features.
