After a video of 15 year old Maya's best friend--Jayla-- getting into an argument with a teacher over a racially insensitive remark goes viral, the two must find a way to work through the fallout: from increased media attention, whispers at school, but yet most difficult the silent rift within their friendship.
Danielle is a filmmaker and animator currently based in New York City. With her work, Danielle looks to contribute to the movement of filmmakers using their stories to help bridge gaps in the representation of POC stories. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Research-Arts Grant, the Congressional Black Caucus Spouse Education Scholarship Award, and an 2018 inductee of the Rochester Association of Black Journalist (RABJ) . She is an alumna of the Undergraduate Film and TV program at New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
