Manya Branham Glassman is a filmmaker interested in using visual imagery to change our world. She is a MFA student in the NYU Tisch School of Arts film program and has a liberal arts background in humanities, French, and film from Providence College. She has written and directed films that examine a range of topics, such as the chaos and beauty of the city (City Breath), time, memory, and loss (Reflections and Taste of Thyme), senses and the cycle of life (Sofia’s Tapestry), the diversity and connectedness of humanity (Taking a Minute), and society’s blurred lines around consensual sex and self-blame (Acquiescence). She is a recipient of the Willard T.C. Johnson Fellowship and Rolly Bester Scholarship at NYU and Antonio Cirino Memorial Scholarship from the Rhode Island Foundation.
