    Caroline Gohlke is a writer and director from Detroit, MI based in New York City where she is currently an MFA candidate at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film program. She studied installation art at Columbia College Chicago before moving to New York in 2015. She has shown work at numerous galleries throughout Chicago and New York City that utilize found ephemera and photographs to create sculptures that de-contextualize past memories and examine the fallibility of perception and one's ability to distort memories to suit personal needs. Her narrative film work portrays strong, nonconformist protagonists interested in alternative culture and puts a lens on interpersonal relationships depicting relatable, cathartic experiences. She is a TSOA scholar and recipient of the Steven J. Ross Fellowship and the recipient of the Black Family Film Prize for her short film Rapids. She is in post-production for two short films, Unholy Water and City Plains. She is currently in development on her debut feature film, Imaginary Lines.
