Julia Cowle is a Filmmaker, Illustrator and Comedy Writer based in New York City. She graduated from New York University where she received a Film and Television degree, and minored in Creative Writing. She also attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Julia is currently the programmer for the Brooklyn Film Festival's Animation lineup, where she is programming for her fifth year. She has worked in a wide range of curating capacities, as a jury member for the ‘Scholastic Art Awards,’ internationally as a Jury member for the 'CreActive International Open Film Festival' in Bangladesh, and as a screener for the ‘Nantucket Film Festival.’ She worked in literary curating as a staff reader for ‘Spark: a Creative Anthology' and it’s two sister publications. While at NYU Julia interned at Columbia Records in the ‘Video Production and Visual Development’ Department, at Frederator and at Puppet Heap.
