Shiyu Li is a filmmaker from southwest of China and is a current MFA candidate. He was pursuing his master degree in finance 3 years ago at Pace University Lubin Business School. However, inspired by New York city and Tisch Graduate Film former students, he resolutely dropped out from business school just for Tisch and his filmmaking dream. During the past 2 years, he made 2 Narrative films REDEMPTION and THE INVADER, and a pure documentary D.LU which is about a female Chinese choreography based in New York. As a filmmaker, Shiyu's work focuses on the effect of contemporary technology on human beings and society, and stories about rock n roll band. He is currently writing his first feature script and working on his thesis narrative film that will focus on a story related to AI.
